PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Manages the patient care and all related matters in the Emergency Department. Supervises, evaluates and coordinates all Emergency Department nursing staff. Periodically takes charge on shift. Hardwires all functions and processes on the shifts and is readily overseeing and rounding throughout the entire Emergency Department. Works closely with the Director of the Emergency Department and relieves the Director during extended absences.

REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. B.S.N. required (or near completion within 6 months of hire). Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Texas. CEN, TNCC, ACLS and PALS(or equivalent) are required)

Two (2) years of related work experience. Two years of current Emergency Department experience at the management level. Computer literate in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Access, Power Point and Outlook)

Organize and utilizes time efficiently to complete assignments
Promotes good public relations through positive interaction with patients, visitors, families and co-workers.
Demonstrates ability to communicate efficiently by identifying and communicating in a positive/constructive manner (verbally and in writing); maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information; develops mechanism by which important and pertinent information is communicated to appropriate personnel
Ability to interpret financial reports
