Job Purpose: The primary purpose of the Registration Representative position is to collect accurate demographic, financial, and basic medical information from patients and/or their designee in a timely and professional manner.
Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.
High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent
Related Work Experience and Other Skills
Ability to type 35 words per minute
Basic computer keyboard/data entry skills preferred
Bilingual Spanish preferred
Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills to
communicate with the public.
Work Experience: 2 years patient access experience required
Accurately assigns Medical Record Number -
Collects money due according to patient’s financial responsibility. -
Enter Correct patient demographic information including Address and Insurance into computer system as given by patient and through review of Insurance cards.
Verification of Insurance and Address is completed with eligibility resources available.
Compliance is monitored and documented through monthly QA scoring system.
Registers patients at an average rate of 10 minutes per patient. Compliance with benchmark will be determined by monthly compilation of activity of registrar comparedto hours worked and volume.
Verifies Insurance and obtains proper authorization when appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
