Job Purpose: The Team Leader is responsible for providing leadership, day to day coordination and supervision within the parameters defined by the Department Director. Responsible for coordinating activities and functions within the Clinical Outcomes Department. This includes coordination and management of core measures abstraction, reporting, and improvements, medical staff quality/peer review , content expert for core measure interpretation and abstraction; facilitating and leading performance improvement initiatives including best practice initiatives/organization improvement initiatives, applying expertise in improvement methods, techniques and tools, proficient in use of databases, data quality checks, data analysis and presentation of data with action plans to lead to performance improvement, skilled communicator for education and change. The Team Leader should be able to make decisions requiring judgment by using general guidelines provided by departmental/organizational leadership. Contributes to the evaluation of personnel and also plans and coordinates organizational, medical staff department and individual physician report cards, along with data display and other reports within assigned area(s) of responsibility. The Team Leader will also be responsible for oversight and coordination of specific projects or initiatives through performance assessments, data collection, analysis and project management.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. May consider candidates with a minimum of a bachelor's degre from other clinical disciplines with demonstrated experience in leading clinical improvement initiatives and peer review.
Master's degree preferred
Licenses and/or Certifications (Required and Preferred)
Other appropriate clinical/healthcare licensure and/or certification
If RN, current Texas license or if HIM profession, RHIA
Related Work Experience and Other Skills
Computer competency including strong background in Microsoft Office, data reporting and display and use of extern databases such as Midas, Crimson, Premier, etc.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated experience leading teams.
Ability to effectively interact with individuals of all levels throughout the organization.
