College and Career Pathways Program

Are you interested in a nursing career? Our College and Career Pathways Program gives students and employees the opportunities and support needed to excel in the field of nursing.


  • Nursing externships provide clinical experience in a hospital setting for nursing students nearing graduation.

  • Nursing residencies help new graduate nurses transition into practice with support and mentorship.

  • For Methodist employees, their families, and our volunteers, our partnership with Dallas College School of Health Sciences offers an associate degree in nursing while gaining valuable on-the-job experience.
  • Our collaboration with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center offers a Bachelor of Science in nursing, as well as advanced degrees and certification programs.

Associate Degree Program

The Dallas College-El Centro Campus Associate Degree Nursing Program at Methodist Health System is a fully paid, two-year nursing program open to Methodist employees, their family members, and volunteers. In return, students sign an agreement that they’ll remain with Methodist for three years while they complete an RN-BSN with Dallas College.
The nursing program includes:

  • Lectures at Dallas College
  • Skills lab at Methodist Dallas Medical Center campus
  • Clinical work at Methodist facilities with professional development specialists

Nursing Scholarships

Dallas College ADN Program Scholarship: Provides up to $1,600 annually to up to 40 students who are Methodist employees, their family members, or volunteers.

Methodist Health System Nursing Program Scholarship: Distributes up to $71,788 annually to students in an ADN, BSN, or MSN program, with priority given to Methodist employees and their families.

Methodist Charlton Medical Center Nursing Scholarship: Open year-round, this scholarship offers $2,000 annually to support Methodist employees in an ADN program.


Charlotte and John Phillips Scholarship in Nursing: Specifically for nurses in a nurse practitioner (NP) program, this scholarship provides $12,000 annually, divided among recipients.

Endowments and Funds

  • Lola R. Morgan Scholarship Fund: Assists female nursing students, preferably in ADN programs.
  • Allie Rae Dixon Scholarship Fund: Designed to support licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) in their career progression.
  • EG Ruffing Fund: Provides financial assistance for nursing scholarships.
  • H & M Golden Scholarship: Assists female nurses in becoming registered nurses (RNs).

Tuition Reimbursement

Are you a nurse who wants to pursue advanced certification? Get more education and enhance your skills with our Clinical Advancement Program. Earn up to $8,000 more every year as you acquire more expertise (we’ll even work with your schedule). Have your eye on a leadership position? Join our Emerging Leaders Program or First-Time Manager Program.
