Methodist Named in Inaugural ‘Healthcare’s Hottest’ in Growth Nationwide
Modern Healthcare Award Recognizes Fastest Growing U.S. Health Care Companies
July 23, 2012
Methodist Health System has been named one of the “Fast 40 – Healthcare’s Hottest” companies nationwide by Modern Healthcare magazine in an inaugural program recognizing the fastest growing health care organizations that are headquartered in the US, have at least $20M in revenue for 2011 and have been in business for five years or more. Methodist is one of only four companies named in Texas.
“Methodist is truly honored to be named to Modern Healthcare’s list of the fastest growing American companies in health care, especially during a period when our overall economy has been comparatively weak. We are deeply appreciative of this recognition which acknowledges our adherence to, and execution of, a solid strategic plan created as a roadmap for Methodist Health System to double in size over the past five years. Methodist exists to serve, improve and save lives throughout our region,” says Methodist Health System President and CEO Stephen L. Mansfield, PhD, FACHE. “Being able to extend the brand substantially over the past five years has been the result of good planning, strong board leadership, outstanding physicians on our medical staffs, and a lot of hard work and a sense of urgency about what we do on behalf of our management team and 6,500 dedicated employees.”
Dr. Mansfield added, “Methodist continues a nearly century-long commitment to North Texas with gratitude for our past legacy and keen eyes on expanding our future service options for quality, compassionate health care, and outstanding patient
satisfaction.”
The 2012 program identifies the “Fast 40” companies in the following sectors: hospitals/hospital systems, physician group practices, payers/insurers, and suppliers. A ranked list of winners will be announced and posted by Modern Healthcare on Sept. 24, and included in a published print supplement with the magazine, along with profiles of many of the honorees.
Over the past few weeks, Methodist has also been named among the top medical facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth region and throughout Texas, according to U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals rankings; identified as one of the Top 100 Most Wired health systems in America by Modern Healthcare; and, the health system has also been consistently honored over the past decade to be among the Best Places to Work in health care in local, regional and national recognitions.
