13 Methodist Health System Nurses Honored for D Magazine’s Excellence in Nursing Awards

Thirteen Methodist Health System nurses were honored for D Magazine's third annual Excellence in Nursing Awards for dedicating their lives to make North Texas a healthier place. Two of the 13 received the distinction as best in their category including Methodist Dallas Medical Center’s Kimberly Green, RNC-OB, Nurse Manager for Labor and Delivery in the Women’s Service category, and Methodist Dallas NICU staff nurse, Lee Lee, RN, BSN in the Neonatal category.

“Our 2014 finalists and winners not only exemplify excellence in nursing, they also serve as mentors and role models for others due to their compassion and clinical expertise,” Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Pamela Stoyanoff says. “Methodist Health System is proud of these dedicated individuals who are deserving of being named as winners and finalists for this recognition.”

More than 450 registered nurses were nominated across 25 categories in the Dallas awards from local hospitals, private practices, doctors, and patients. D Magazine praised the men and women who won awards for their "hard work, sharp minds and easy bedside manner," noting that they “go above and beyond to make North Texas a healthier place to live."

The 13 Methodist Health System nurse finalists honored at the publication’s ceremony were: • Evelina Echols-Sutton, BSN, RN; and Consuela Mendoza, RN from Methodist Charlton • Althea Aubrey, RN,; Kim Green, RNC-OB; Michelle Hendricks, BSN, RN;  Lee Lee, BSN, RN; Tony Paterniti, Ph.D., RN; Crystal Ramirez, RN; and Nancy Sweeney, BSN, RN, CHPN from Methodist Dallas • Stacey Jantzen, BSN, MSN, RN; Melissa Mitchel, RN; Kathy Ripley, BSN, MBA, RN, CGRN; and Amanda Truelove, BSN,RNC-OB from Methodist Mansfield.
