Methodist Mansfield Named Outstanding Large Business of the Year

Mansfield, TX — Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, a full service 222-bed acute care hospital featuring the Amon G. Carter Heart and Vascular Center and some of the latest patient-centric technology, received the 2015 Outstanding Large Business of the Year Award from the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce at the Chamber’s 44th Annual Awards dinner last week.

Methodist Mansfield is one of the largest non-profit employers in Mansfield, with more than 1,200 employees, 200-plus associated physicians and allied health care workers. The hospital recently added a $118 million patient care tower, with plans to build a new physician office building and expand women and children services and surgical suites. Methodist is also part of the Mayo Clinic Care Network that allows Methodist physicians and staff access to tools and services to compliment provider expertise.

The Outstanding Large Business of the Year Award is presented annually to a Chamber member that promotes and supports the business climate and local economic development through the successful, long-term profitable operation of its business.  The business should exemplify innovative leadership with employees and clients and exhibit outstanding customer service.  This business should also support the Chamber through participation and financial contributions. “We are extremely pleased to present this annual award to our community hospital this year,” Mansfield Area Chamber of Commerce President Lori Williams says. “They promote and support the community and provide quality care.”

“We are honored to be recognized as this year’s outstanding large business by the chamber and are thankful to our employees and physicians for their compassion and extraordinary care they provide for our patients every day and for their volunteerism and support in this community,” Methodist Mansfield Medical President John Phillips, FACHE says. “It is especially gratifying to know that our efforts are appreciated by the chamber and by the city we call home.”

In additional to its support of the Chamber, Methodist Mansfield is also an avid supporter of the Mansfield community, particularly of health and education initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles and future nurses and physicians.  The hospital contributes locally to the Mansfield Independent School District, Mansfield ISD Education Foundation, Ben Barber Career Tech Academy health and science students, Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department, Big League Dreams, Hawaiian Falls, and numerous other civic organizations.

The latest outstanding large business award is the latest in a string of awards presented to Methodist Mansfield. Those honors include Best of the Best by the Mansfield News Mirror, a Fort Worth Business Health Care Hero, D Magazine Excellence in Nursing Awards, Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® by The Joint Commission, to name a few.  To read more about Methodist Mansfield’s awards, visit MethodistHealthSystem.com/awards.
