Methodist Partners with The Advisory Board to Grow Nursing Leaders

Dallas -- Understanding the importance of professional development for nursing leaders, Methodist Health System partnered with The Advisory Board Company to form the Nursing Leadership Academy. The Academy started with 360-degree evaluations that served as a needs assessment. Workshops consist of strategic planning sessions through the collaboration of Methodist’s chief nursing officers, organizational effectiveness, and Advisory Board consultants. From that collaboration, a series of workshops utilizing a combination of lectures, faculty-led courses, and group projects take place throughout the year. In 2016, nursing leaders have already participated in the workshops “Spurring Innovation” and “Leadership Rounding on Employees.” The next two workshops in 2016 will focus on coaching, and stress, and burnout. Methodist supports nurses at all levels in professional development activities that are designed to improve their knowledge and skills in the workplace.
