Director, Talent Acquisition
Methodist Health System

Meet Allan Akinradewo, Methodist Health System’s new director of talent acquisition. He has extensive experience in healthcare, in leadership, and in developing employee growth. So you could say that he’s perfect for the job. We certainly think so!

Allan’s experience in healthcare includes supporting talent acquisition professionals. His accomplishments are too many to list here, but we do know that wherever Allan serves, he works wonders for his employer. We’re proud to have him.

He’s earned degrees at the University of Benin, Nigeria; London Academy of Management Sciences, United Kingdom; and University of Gloucestershire, England. We had a chat to learn more about him.

Methodist Health System: What do you do as the talent acquisition director?

Allan: I create strategies to ensure that we attract the best talent to join Methodist.

Methodist: What does that involve?

Allan: We’re not here just to post and pray. Each of us must ask how to speak to candidates, where we need to reach out, what’s the message, and what is the value proposition that will help us stand out. We want to make sure that when healthcare professionals are looking for a new role, we’re the first organization on their mind.

Methodist: What made you want to work with Methodist?

Allan: I needed a challenge. And I wanted to find a healthcare organization that was aligned with my values. Methodist lives their values. The openness and sincerity of everyone I interacted with convinced me to accept the role.

Methodist: Your education and professional experience are impressive. Any military experience?

Allan: Yes. I am a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Learning that Methodist is a 2023 Top 10 Military Friendly® Employer influenced my decision to accept this position.

Methodist: Do you have any goals for us?

Allan: I want to have a department that functions with efficiency but stays connected to potential employees with a warm, human touch.

Methodist: Why is talent acquisition your calling?

Allan: I love to see people grow, get challenged, and get better. Talent acquisition in healthcare is unique. Not only are we positioning people for roles that will fulfill them, but we’re also directly impacting the quality of care for others by putting the right person in the right place.

Methodist: What would you tell a candidate about Methodist?

Allan: I would say that the leaders here are accessible. You will have a voice here. You will be heard, and you will have room to make your mark.

Methodist: What do you do when you’re not working?

Allan: I work out. I watch soccer. And I watch mixed martial arts. I also love to travel.

Methodist: Where have you traveled?

Allan: I’ve been to a few African countries, to Europe, Canada, several cities in the United States, and Puerto Rico.

Methodist: What is your proudest achievement?

Allan: Being a dad to my 3-year-old. I’ve survived Cocomelon and Baby Shark. Now it’s all Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig.
